On Sunday May 1, (2011) Osama bin Laden was killed by a
US military detachment in Abbotabad, Pakistan. His demise prompts a number of questions:
How does this relate to the current turmoil in the Middle East?
Is Osama's concept of the strong horse the key to understanding the potential outcomes of these
stirring which some see as stirrings of democracy and civil rights?
On related matters, Why has there been almost no outrage about
the targetted assassination by the US of the planner of the September 11, 2001,
attacks on the US, where great outrage has been expressed where Israel has targetted acknowledged terrorists
responsible for the death of hundreds of Israelis.

Broadcast Thursday 24th March 2011
Repeated Sunday 27th March 2011
In this broadcast
Morry and Gabby interviewed Michelle Rojas-tal
Diaspora Education Director of Stand With Us International
http://StandWithUs.com during her recent visit to Melbourne.
Presenter Morry was in Israel in the mid seventies and could recall a news item re Saudi Arabia paying
the adverising firm Saatchi & Saatchi a very large sum to change the public perspective of the Arab Israel
dispute.
The outcome of the Saatchi & Saatchi effort was the acceptance of the concept
of a Palestinian Israel conflict.
The eye-opening story of Arab Knesset member, female Arab, Balad MK Hanan Zouabi, who was a
passenger on the Turkish flotilla of fools in May 2010.
She recently toured Australia, claiming Israel is an Apartheid State,
yet she is one of 13 Arab MKs, and free of danger of arrest for spouting treasonable views.

Population Exchange
Jews have lived in the Middle East for over three thousand years.
The Jewish communities in what is now Iraq and Iran were there (until the final expulsion) for three thousand years,
other communities were more than two thousand years old in 1948.
But since 1948 close to a million Jews were expelled from Arab lands of whom approximately 750,000
came to Israel. In fact 70% of the Jewish population of Israel are from these Mizrahi (Eastern) Jews.
The number of Arabs who migrated, fled, or were expelled from Israel were in 1948 considerably smaller that the
than the number of Jewish refugees who restarted their lives in Israel.
When Mizrahi Jews first came to Israel, they were accommodated in tent cities called
Maarabarot, pictured here.
Counting the Forgotten Refugees:
The populations of Jews in M.E.
circa 1948 and 2004
Country in the Middle East | Number of Jews in 1948 | Number of Jews in 2004 |
Algeria | 140,000 | Less than 100 |
Egypt | 75,000 | Less than 100 |
Iran | 100,000 | 11,000 |
Iraq | 150,000 | Approx. 35 |
Lebanon | 20,000 | Less than 100 |
Libya | 38,000 | 0 |
Morocco | 265,000 | 5,500 |
Syria | 30,000 | Less than 100 |
Tunisia | 105,000 | 1,500 |
Yemen | 55,000 | 200 |
TOTAL | 978,000 | Less than 18,635
